The HTTYD add-on brings rideable dragons from the "How to Train Your Dragon" franchise to Minecraft. The add-on also includes a script that allows for realistic flying behavior. A behavior pack is provided that allows for the traditional method of flying (by jumping and slowly falling). This is the third beta version of the add-on, so it is still missing many features such as natural spawning and additional dragons. However, the latest beta no longer requires scripts, so realistic flying is now supported on all platforms.
The add-on features four types of dragons: Night Fury, Light Fury, Deadly Nadder, and Monstrous Nightmare. Each type has a varying number of variants. The behaviors and scripts for the dragons have been extensively rewritten and include new features such as taming mechanics, the ability to saddle and ride dragons, and the ability to put chests on and remove them from dragons. Different dragons have unique attack patterns and abilities, such as the Night Fury's use of melee and fire charge attacks, and the Monstrous Nightmare's ability to breathe fire. The add-on also includes a variety of animations that can be triggered for all dragons, such as walking, flying, and resting.
